*clink clink*
Just pretend I clinked a spoon against a champagne glass. 😉
I’d like to make a couple of announcements!
First, I am excited to announce that I am starting a new job in January!
For those who have been reading a while (or especially if you know me in person and have had to listen to me complaining a lot lately about work), you’ll know things at work have been really tough lately. My (now ex-) employer is a giant conservative corporation in a super-conservative industry, which is why I’ve been so careful on here to conceal my identity and keep work details light.
Even though I’m moving onto an employer (a startup) and and an industry (healthcare tech) that are a lot more laid back, I’ll probably be skittish for a while about talking about work, since my old employer was so dang conservative and political. (If you think I’m exaggerating, it was basically only acceptable to be interested in golf, American football, and church. Any expression of personality or interests beyond these topics was totally taboo).
And if you’re wondering just what got so awful with work, well, aside from some godawful micromanagement, there were some serious OSHA safety and sanitation violations in my office. Like, no potable water, at times no working toilet, and trash piling up for weeks.
Aaaaaanyway, as my favorite Norwegian ice princess once said, “I’m never going back; the past is in the past!”
Onto my second announcement: I’ve decided that I will definitely be rebranding/renaming/restyling the blog! Thank you all SO much for your kind and helpful words.
I’ve luckily got a few weeks off before I start my new gig, so I will actually have time to devote to the rebranding, and to deciding a more reasonable posting schedule.
Thank you so much to all my readers for your love and support. Merry Christmas to you all!!!
Love,
Charlotte xoxo
Congrats on the new job!

Thank you! I am both scared and excited, but mostly excited. Do you know what direction you’ll be going in?

I have no idea what to do next. I’ve spent 20yrs in the health and social care sector but it’s very difficult work in the face of austerity and huge cuts to funding. It’s time for something new. I’m going to work with a life coach to look at new career paths. I think you will enjoy your new job. All the best
