At time of writing, it’s Election Night here in the States! Which means only one thing – Americans around the country and celebrating that this gosh darn campaign season is finally over!!
I jest, I jest … but seriously though! It’s finally over, y’all. Now we just have to work together as a country once the nominee is officially in office. 🙂
Since I didn’t have time to write Weblog Wednesday last week, this post will be a recap of two weeks in my nerdy life.
Two weeks ago, after the last published Weblog Wednesday, Dear Husband went to the Thursday Night Football game with his dad to see the Titans play the Jaguars. I already had cocktails scheduled with a friend, but at the last minute I got a free ticket to the game as well. After cocktails with my friend, I tried my darnedest to make it to the game in time, but alas, I missed a really good win.
That weekend, Dear Husband and I attended a Halloween party hosted by some new friends. The party invitation mandated costumes, so I threw together Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm costumes at the last minute.
I loved old school cartoons as a kid, so this costume was a fun throw-back. I’ll be posting a tutorial for the costume at some point too, but it was very easy!
Last week was pretty busy at work, not that that is shocking. Thankfully though, I’ve got a business trip to Vegas coming up in a few days, so I’m definitely looking forward to Sin City.
This past weekend I had a 15 mile training run. It was initially supposed to be 18 miles, but I just seriously ran out of gas towards mile 15 because I forgot to pack any GU with me and was getting low on glucose reserves, so I stopped begrudgingly at 15 miles. My next marathon (the Walt Disney World marathon) is exactly two months from today, and I am getting sooooooooo excited!!!
On Sunday my father in law and brother in law came over to watch the Titans suck it up against the Chargers, while I cleaned the house and made these amazing rainbow sprinkle funfetti donuts which I featured on Toast of Tuesday this week.
Speaking of rainbow colors, I can’t recall what day this was on, but last week I saw THE most breathtaking sunset ever.
This week has been exciting with the presidential election finally being here. I know I’m not the only one who is so darn sick and tired of political ads and mud-slinging among the candidates.
Today I went and practiced my civic duty, if only to get the super cool sticker. 😉
Many of my friends around the country were complaining of extremely long wait times to get into the polling stations. So, I felt grateful when I was in and out in literally less than five minutes.
And, now, here I am typing away at this blog post, television uncharacteristically on in the background as I watch for results like a hawk.
Whatever happens, I love all my dear readers in America and abroad!
Until next time,
