3 o’clock came waaaaay too early this morning. A run, laundry, packing, breakfast + coffee, a bit of work, hustling to the airport — it’s only 8 o’clock and I’m exhausted already!

I can’t believe tomorrow’s already Thanksgiving. Just yesterday it seems like we were melting in the summer sun.

In the spirit of Tofurkey Day (I’m a vegetarian), I thought I’d post about the store bought goody that has gone viral here in the States: Patti LaBelle’s sweet potato pie.

Mind you, I’ve never even had a bite of sweet potato pie in my life, but based on the craze that’s swept the nation these past few weeks, I feel I absolutely must try this humble delicacy.

Alas, stores are completely.sold.out. For the foreseeable future, at least. Thankfully, someone on the Interwebz allegedly got a hold of the recipe, which a coworker graciously printed out for everyone in the office:

I find homemade pie crusts to be monstrously difficult (unless they’re graham cracker crusts – those are easy), so we’ll see just how doable Ms LaBelle’s recipe is.

Have any of you managed to get your hands on one of these pies? Do they live up to the hype? I can’t wait to find out for myself!
